The Brookman Building c.1900

George Brookman donated a total of 15,000 pounds for the erection of a proper building to house the School of Mines and Industry, and  the government of the day provided 10,000 pounds

The contractor was F. Fricker who agreed to construct the buildind for 25,613 pounds.

The foundation stone was laid on March 7th 1900.

The bluestone used in the base came from Auburn, South Australia and the bricks were made locally by Halletts, Brompton yard.
