Unveiled 4th June, 1904, by the 
Chief of the Caledonian Society.
This man was a famous, eminent Australian Explorer.

Designer & Sculptor: J White 

The figure is of Carrara marble, from a plaster model made by 
Mr.M J Maxwell. 
The Pedestal is of Sydney trachyte. Erected by W Torode. 
Paid for by 
public subscription, and presented by the Caledonian Society. 

 

Captain Charles Sturt 
Eminent Famous Australian Explorer. 

Unveiled 21st December, 1916. 

The Sculptor was Captain Adrian Jones, M.V.O. 

The Pedestal is of Murray Bridge granite and Angaston marble.
The figure is bronze

Erected by G.E. Morgan. 

Paid for by public subscription.
