Port Adelaide - December 10, 2003
After an uneventful trip earlier in the week from the Austal Ship Yards in Henderson, Western Australia, the new 14 million dollar ferry purchased by Kangaroo Island Sealink for use on the Cape Jervis - Penneshaw, Kangaroo Island route was ready to be formally introduced and commissioned into service.

On a warm pleasant sunny day at inner Port Adelaide a large crowd of invited dignitaries,and guests mostly from the tourism and related industries were firstly entertained y the Adelaide Symphony Orchestra.



Kangaroo Island Sealink Chairman Mr Giulano Ursini gave the large crowd an
interesting insight into Kangaroo Island Sealink history and operations.

The South Australian Tourism Minister - The Hon. Dr Jane Lomax-Smith MP
informed the attentive crowd of the latest developments in the South Australian
Tourism industry.



The Hon. Mr Joe Hockey, federal Minister for Tourism & Small Business, completed the plaque unveiling.

The new ferry was christened with the traditional champagne bottle by The Hon. Mr Joe Hockey MP
